This Saturday, Annie Paradee and Emily Souliotis will be holding a 2.5-hour Ashtanga workshop at Indy Yoga. They will provide an in-depth introduction to the Ashtanga yoga method, a popular system of yoga brought to the Western world by Sri K. Patthabi Jois. The Primary Series is a set practice of breathing, sun salutations, and a series of classical yoga asanas that combine to produce internal heat, detoxify the body, and calm the mind. The word ashtanga also refers to the eightfold path, or eight limbs of yoga, in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra. This is a set of guidelines for living a meaningful, spiritual life in good health and moral conduct. Learn more about the eightfold path and the Primary Series this Saturday at the workshop!
